As a beb getting into hardcore collecting, I was psyched to pick up most things. I have always loved (and will always love) the Gorilla Biscuits. Call it the “Age Of Quarrel for Girls*” if you want, but I’ve always held Start Today as my favorite hardcore lp. Back then at least. Now a days, things done changed. I probably listened to Start Today once a day for months on end. Now, probably haven’t listened to it in a month. Regardless, still an excellent hardcore album.
If you can imagine, my dream was to amass the greatest Gorilla Biscuits collection ever. These days, I leave that to Cliche Jon. For a while, I was doing pretty good. I snagged up most of the GB EPs (I still want a #102 version). And I had all copies of the LP minus test presses, of course. But at one point, I gave my copy on purple vinyl to Casali for some mammoth trade he had worked out (despite him once sniping me on a Wishingwell 4 sided tee …). And I sold a couple copies of my EPs. And my shirts … well, I never really got off the ground with them. Finding a legit Bananacore shirt was near to impossible.
But the first MAJOR score to my GB collection is the “infamous” caveman longsleeve. I picked it up on ebay for something ridiculously cheap like $14. At the time, you’d think I had just scored a Chung King. I was pretty stoked. I was flabbergasted that I won it for so cheap. Seriously, flabbergasted. It arrived a few days later, and it was glorious. Now keep in mind, this was 10-11 years ago so rocking a navy blue longsleeve wasn’t always an issue for me. I’m sure I wore this with some cut off cargos and looked pretty crucial. The yellow sleeve print was awesome, and the FOUR (Yes, 4. Pretty hot shit for an early 90s tee when everything seemed to be one color prints) color back print was amazing.
Years later, I sold it. But thankfully, I replaced it with a Tour 90 longsleeve. Way more crucial, for obvious reasons.
If you are just starting out, this is the shirt for you. It goes for cheap and is WAY more crucial than a tees, please don’t buy this and tailor it).

ps. Keep an eye on dsprau’s auctions. He has a ton of gems going up left and right.
so what would be your number hardcore lp of all time nowadays?
I’ll gladly take the credit for that statement, but it was actually TDT.
i will now use that statement every time I need to describe start today to someone
