Flyer Art.

Interesting set of auctions xmaulx has here, and ones I’d like to know a little bit more about…

So clearly at some point, someone took some classic old fliers and did limited screen prints of them. Cool idea, and 3 out of 5 look really rad, though as someone who draws fliers, I’d be a little miffed if someone took one that I had made and made their own limited print of it of it for profit. Assuming these were originally sold for profit, that is. But it’s not like these are new fliers or anything; I doubt very many people even know who did them or where to find them, so really it’s the most minor of quibbles.

kind of cool, but these should have a reasonable BIN on them. Dude is obviously trying to roll the dice by doing a regular auction on ’em

its not like these were made en masse to actually make a profit worth running to the bank with. these were made by a dude in spain if im not mistaken. he sold them for a fair enough price originally. supply and demand. they look pretty cool. if i was in the market for a colour print of some of these things it wouldnt be the worst thing i ever spent money.

i can understand your mentality that this is not his creation to recreate/distribute for capital, but now we are getting into the fog of war, and moreover, hardcore merchandise as currency.

they were avail, via the livewire board ’bout a year ago.

What Mosher said is true, a guy from Spain is the one who made these available and he posted regulary about them, but there seemed to be little interest in them. He took them to Ebay where I bought two off of him. He took a long time to get the two that I purchased off of him to me and included some extras in with them. I posted a pic recently on the LWB of the framed Judge one that I have. I have so much other “art” that I am going to put up in my house eventually, that I figured it was time (along with the shirts) to thin the herd. The guy was getting into doing his own screening and genuinely wanted to do some stuff that he himself could hang and did put BINs on them. I start every one of my auctions at $1, and it is a roll of the dice. I figured that with the OG interest shown in them, that that was a fair deal. I too love the old fliers but it’s cool to have bigger, more colorful versions to frame up and hang ’em. The last one was done by a dude in CAN and from what I could tell, this was an almost similar type of thing.

Thanks for the info. If I didn’t have so much stuff to frame and hang myself, I would be trying for the AF and Judge ones.

The Judge one is very enticing, don’t get me wrong
