I’ve always loved H2O. That first album is an all time favorite. It’d be top 10 material if it featured fewer skits. The skit can drag at points where you just want to keep moshing.
The live show. Fuck, the live shows are so good. I’ve seen them play shows to empty rooms (the Palladium upstairs in Worcester with Stretch Armstrong on a cold Sunday in 2005) to overflowing, over moshing rooms (The Palladium downstairs, Sk8 Fest 1998). I usually get to see them once or twice a year, and I’m never really disappointed (well, besides that cold Worcester show which I blame on a shitty audience. That crowd knew all the words to the GO album but NOT ONE word to to anything off the self titled or Thicker Than Water. WEAK). Toby always has energy, Rusty and Todd, the whole gang. Everyone always goes off. Hell, when I saw them play last month on Halloween, they gave it their all. That show at the ICC was ridiculous.
One show I’ll never forget was at the Met Cafe in Providence RI. I say I’ll never forget it, but I can’t recall any real details. Tom Z, help out here. It was rainy, swampy day, the Met was PACKED, and kids were losing their minds. I recall an endless stage dive. You couldn’t touch the ground. You would jump off the stage, be pushed back onto the stage, dive again, just over and over again. When was this show? Help me out here.
This shirt is cool because it’s an old Epitaph shirt. I don’t remember these popping up a lot with that back logo.
Try, but you can’t bring me down! Shout out to Suicidal Tendencies.
1998 or 99…right brigade and kill your idols. I forget who else played but that was one of the best times I’ve seen H2O.
