Have Heart could very well be the Youth Of Today for the modern hardcore kid.
I mean, I don’t see Pat going Krsna or starting up a Shelter-esque band (however, I could see him skanking to some “Alone On My Birthday” song … well, not really).
But given the reach and influence of Have Heart, I think the argument is valid. Plus, the views expressed by the band are very in line with the message Youth Of Today was pushing in the late 80s.
Something More Than Ink.
I’ve always liked this JP tour shirt. I get a lot of compliments on it when I wear it, for obvious reasons. I recall the band came home with quite a few of them. No idea why. Especially after bringing it to Japan, across the US and to Germany. Great shirt.
I don’t know what it is that makes bands want to do Japan-centric tour shirts. WE’RE the ones who love Japan—Japanese kids love American hardcore, they don’t want some Japan shit on the merch, they see that stuff every day.
japan no longer loves american HC like it did in the 90s
Does that mean they will start selling of the shirts and records that ended up in Japan.
Regardless of whether or not they love American HC as much as they did in the 90’s, my point is that Japanese imagery and themes aren’t nearly as cool to them as they are to us, and I don’t think that ever occurs to any of the American bands who put Samurais, Japanese waves, or Godzilla on their tour shirts :)
