You know that phrase, “you learn something new everyday?” Well, I learned something new yesterday.

It’s about AN Zip ups.

Apparently some goon bootlegged them because they are $$$.

BUT, they didn’t make a perfect copy. They skimped and made imperfect copies.

Below is an original. You can tell it’s the OG version for a few reasons.

1. Jerzees Tag
2. In the “A” there is a no ink, negative space under the middle dash.

The bootlegs lack this negative space.

Update: I talked to the shop that screened these hoods. I was told that 75% of the hoods were on Jerzees, but the others were what they could get. During that era, black zip ups were a hot commodity and the supply was low. So screen printers took whatever they could. The shop was also impressed that people noticed the negative space. He said he would check the screens and get back to me with anymore info.
