The other night, I saw a bunch of bands at Anchors Up. During one of the sets, the guitarist’s strap broke. A bunch of dudes tried to put it back together while he played, but it was really broken.
After the song, and him playing very awkwardly, the guitarist called out for a new guitar, trying to borrow one from anyone. He finally got one, but AFTER someone brought him a chair. That got a lot of chuckles. It would have been like an unplugged set. But he didn’t stoop to the chair.
BUT
One time I saw Have Heart play at CBGBs. B-Roll had busted up his knee (or ankle) either the night before or earlier that evening. He was wobbly. At some point during their set, he got moted, and couldn’t really stand. He tried to play while sitting on the drum riser, but it wasn’t enough. Finally, he got a stool and played on that. That only lasted a few songs because I think he was embarrassed.
Best show.

At the Anchors Up, I commented on this CBGBs show to the person standing next to me, and that person happened to be Pat Flynn. We both chuckled.
Something more thank ink.
