Mental – EU 04 Tees

Gil wasn’t lying. I love this tee. It’s an all around amazing looking tee. Real simple style, quality classic-like image with a chill font. Throw in the “Be True To Your School” Nike reference, and I’m sold. Plus, great color schemes.

Gil is selling the same color shirt (orange/white, CUSE!) I’m wearing in the previous Bane picture. Good look Gil. Mine currently has some blood drops on it. No idea from who or where. Sort of a bummer.

This 04 Euro tee also came in the reverse of these colors. An orange tee with white ink and a purple tee with white ink. Sadly, I only have 3 of 4. If anyone has a medium purple tee with white ink, hit me up.

Wow. Here’s a sweet relic from 1994. 108 Sweat Shorts. Yes, sweat shorts! Who makes sweat shorts anymore? No one.

Well, Old Navy And The Gap, but those suck. They aren’t krshna approved at all.

108 are chill dudes. This I know.

One time I was having a bbq at my house and had invited a ton of friends. It was working out well because there was a big show down the road from my house that day. So all my friends were going to be in my suburban town anyway. The vegan bbq was in full swing when my friend Pete asked if it would be ok if a few extra dudes rolled up. I said, sure, why not. After all, I Rise and Soul Control had stood me up. They had all woken up late and had to skip the bbq in order to load in on time. WEAK.

So the extra crew of dudes turned out to be 108 and Nicole Deathwish Inc. Pretty righteous crew. Many an interesting story was discussed with Vic and Rob. And by the end of the day, we were swapping vegan macaroni and cheese recipes with Rob. Yes, that’s right. The lead singer of Release wanted our recipe because he knew his kids would love it! LOL, amazing times. Everyone filled up and had an excellent time at the gig.

Hot look. Good for that early fall gig where you still want stage diving mobility AND warmth. Maybe if we are all nice to Tre, we can get Deathwish Inc to reproduce these gems. What do you say, Tre? We love you (and Jake and Nicole and your wonderful intern crew and whoever else I’m forgetting).

Champion – Australian Tour 2004 Tee

Funny story behind this tee.**

Champion made these tees up before hitting Australia (I think). You’ll notice the shirt features a koala bear in a tree with an x-rated swatch strapped to a tree limb. A pretty good photoshop, I’d say.

Upon arriving in Australia for the first time, they did what every good tourist crew would do, they hit up the local sites. They did some touring, lots of beaching and even hit up a park with koala bears. During this koala bear tour, they came across a sleeping koala. Chris B9, who was on tour with Champion, asked the tour guide if he could put his watch on the koala for a great pic. The tour guide was obviously against it. But she allowed each of the band members (who were interested) to hold the sleeping koala. When it came time for Chris to hold the bear, the tour guide was distracted. Chris slipped his watch on the bear, and a picture was taken. The tour guide was none the wiser.

Regardless of the back story, this tee is cool. White tee, black ink. Simple. I’m a big fan. And that BIN is very nice too.

** pretty sure this was always a rumor but feel free to spread it as the “god’s honest truth.”

Here is a pretty good lot. 11 mental shirts including a longlseeve. There are a couple shirts I wanna cop in this. Become an instant Mental fan. The gem of this lot is the Menal Crew shirt sold at the “get an oxygen tank” record release show on 8/23/03. The brazil colorway was the rarer of the 2 that were sold(the other being blue/orange). Buy this lot and look like a total poseur while you pretend to be down with Mental Crew.
