WTF? Sick Of It All Tee

Nothing about the initial appearance of this shirt warrants a WTF? tag. In fact, it appears to be pretty straight forward mid 90s hardcore wear. Everything looks giant (but nothing is super oddly placed, 96 was obviously AFTER the weird screen placement phase) and coloroful. A very mid 90s design overall.

The WTF the moment is the tshirt brand.

What kind of “fall off the back of a truck” brand is Wild Oats? Seriously. In my book, Wild Oats is a great cafe in Brunswick Maine that has DUMB good sandwiches. They have NOTHING to do with tshirt brands despite being located next door to the first Bull Moose store*. I could go for one of their hummus and sprout sandwiches right now. A full sandwich, with a bag of cape cod chips and a nice lemonade. Hook that up!

* Not the first location of the first Bull Moose store, of course. Same town, stones throw from the first spot.

Endpoint 666 shirt

To say I don’t understand this shirt is an understatement. I have no clue what, where, why or how this relates to the band endpoint. The last thing that would ever come to mind when thinking about endpoint would be the devil OR Ozzy. This is simply a retarded shirt.

H2O shirts

Ever have one of those days when it all just clicks into place, and suddenly everything makes sense? I’ve had those days. On one of those occasions, H2O fell into place. You see, for a long time, I viewed them as a novelty band, a guilty pleasure (not like Good Clean Fun novelty, of course).

That first album is supremely awesome, but the commentary always seemed like a gimmick to me. Then one day, it all made sense, “This band is legit.” After 10+ years of sweat, blood and tears, this band is still 100% authentic hardcore. This band ISN’T a novelty, they are THE REAL FUCKING DEAL. After coming to this realization, I gladly went back through their whole catalog with an open heart and a clear mind and realized each album is full of gems. It doesn’t hurt that the band is full of REAL people. Toby is one of the most genuine, down to earth mother fuckers out there. The same can be said of Rusty and the rest of the gang. Down dudes rocking the fuck out.

Feel free to snicker at me (maybe it’d be best if you did it behind my back, thanks) but I’m a fan!

One of my favorite shows was at the Met Cafe back on a sweltering June day in 2000 or 2001. It was pouring out and the club was jammed with kids. You couldn’t move. If you lifted your feet, you probably could have been held aloft by an unknowing crowd. And everyone was there to see H2O. And H2O did not let them down. A great show with plenty of excellent dives. I recall Mr Jay Bil had quite a few excellent ones (as always). The energy of that show was electric, and it embodies the spirit of H2O.

Don’t forget your roots.

ROA / Bulldog Tee

ROA is a chill dude from California. He sang in a few bands you may have heard of: Justice League, End To End, … One day, someone from the Livewire Records message board challenged / dared him to create a ROA shirt. This is the result. And only 10 of these exist.

On top of a cool tee with a cool story, your winning bid helps a dude pay off a crazy large vet bill. This dude went above and beyond for his little guy. Pony up plenty of cash and buy this shirt, and all the other items he has posted on ebay.
