Oh Mid 90s, what were people thinking?

The mid 90s were obviously a weird time. Lots of patches, vegan bake sale tables at shows and lots, LOTS of odd shirts. Somehow, every shirt from the mid 90s was printed on the Short-Wide shirt. You know what I’m talking about. Somehow the shirt is oddly not tall enough, but is also super wide. It’s like the shirts were printed to cover tanks or picnic tables.

These shirts are likely great examples. I mean, look at that Split Lip shirt. Who came up with the weird side stomach print? Dunno. Pretty weird.

But of course, if you are a fan of mid 90s hardcore, you have to own these tees. They are must haves. Split Lip AND Endpoint in one auction. Good stuff.

Strife Los Angeles Hardcore Tee

It’s strange to think that “Strife never broke up.” They are currently the west coast equivalent of Up Front — the band that plays a show every few years, puts together some merch and rocks out. This is the case with this tee. I’ve never seen it in my life. I can only imagine it was a 2008 or 2009 tee.

As for the shirt design, it’s a little sparse. What really weirds me out is the font used for the band name. That definitely isn’t the traditional STRIFE font. Oh well. Also, I wish it said “Straight Edge Hardcore.” Double oh well.

Another original owner shirt, which apparently was purchased at a show circa 1990. I am used to seeing some sort of album related design on a show bought shirt. Not to say that I have doubts about this shirt, but I have a message into Kev to see if he has any recollection.
