Ok, as you already know (I hope) original shirts by NYHC legends WarZone are hard to come by. Sure, reprints are a dime a dozen, and let us be honest, if you did not care, you would not be reading this.

What you are looking at is an original 1990 WarZone tour shirt. Pretty rare sight lately. Take a gander at the pics, then let me break it down…

OK, so a pretty amazing shirt, eh? Let’s go over a few things while I have your attention.

Imagine you are standing on a crowded beach, checking out the ladies, dudes, chasing your kid or whatever else you do at the beach. Along comes a middle aged dude wearing Oakley Blades, aqua socks, OP shorts and this shirt. You MIGHT not even notice that it is in fact a rare WarZone shirt.

What an odd shirt this is. Cool, yes, but odd nonetheless.

#1 The front design looks like it could be advertising an indoor paintball arena or an after hours bondage club.

#2 Oh that back WarZone logo. Such a sweet extended Z. Looks like a 1990 design choice. Nothing exciting here, except for the semi-underlined ZONE untilllllll…

#3 “SNEAK ATTACK PHASE 1” in DOT MATRIX print! This has not happened since you were playing Super Mario. Oh but they flipped the contrast on the second line, it’s all good.

#4 Oh, it’s a tour shirt? Who needs tour dates? Looks like they forgot to screen them on the bottom of the shirt.

I know this seems harsh, but I am willing to bet this shirt goes for more than a fair amount. Overall I do like it, but it just seems…odd to me.

Show Off Your Guns

Ever wanted to give someone a ticket to the gun show? This auction is for you. At the next hardcore gig you attend, you can be sure the girls will come flocking. It’s also important to point out that these shirts are size Large. That means if you don’t have borboli guns, best you go back to the gym.

Honestly, I’m not even certain who all of these bands are. I will assume they are all hardcore bands. Does it matter? You are getting EIGHT sleeveless shirts in one go. That’s enough for every day of the week. And if you are Beatles fan over clocking your macking, that’s eight days a week worth of mack. The Don’t Trip shirt appears to be Michiel Walrave handiwork, but I can’t be certain. Sweet, sweet stuff.

The Adolescents Steal

I can’t say I’ve listened to The Adolescents a lot, but shit, for $8 shipped, I should become their next biggest fan. Great looking tee, doesn’t appear worn out or busted. Either the seller goofed with the BIN price or someone is getting a deal.

Redemption 87 – New Age 3 Sided Tee

When I moved to Worcester in 97, I met a kid named Spaulding and his friend Jim Headband. This particular story is about Spaulding. Jim Headband gets his own stories another day.

This dude, Spaulding, was clearly the most pos dude I had ever met. His playlist consisted of INSTED, Uniform Choice and Redemption 87, exclusively it seemed. Perhaps he had been born on the wrong coast in the wrong decade, but dude was stand up. Still is, in fact. One time, he promised to go vegetarian if he was given a Chain Crew. A Chain Crew was given to him and he went vegetarian. A year or so later, he decided to give up the vegetarian lifestyle. INSTED of potentially making a lot of money on ebay, he gave the EP back to the original owner. Great PMA. Great dude.
