Earth Crisis – Animal Liberation Hood

Back when I was getting into Hardcore, Earth Crisis was hitting the scene at their hardest (fact, I was only 9 in 1988). Vegan straight edge was a huge deal. So were giant JNCOs, car seat style beaded necklaces, striped shirts from the gap, and even more questionable hair colors & styles. In fact, if you dig back through early 90s fashion, you’ll see all sorts of weird stuff. Like people with their t-shirts tucked into their giant pants. Why did people do this? I can see the preppy crossover (united colors of benetton, anyone?), but WHY? Seriously, why was that look cool? I missed it. I mean, I rocked some stupid large pants, but I never once tucked my tshirt into my pants. Thankfully, that look died out. And was replaced by girl jeans. Is that any better?!? Thankfully, some items from the mid 90s still have that staying power.

For instance, the Earth Crisis Animal Liberation hood. It fit the 90s style and still isn’t out of place in the scene today. A lot of start up bands could learn a lesson from the design principles behind this hood. For instance, 4 sided, 3 color print, BIG bold lettering. While I don’t suggest putting slaughterhouse pics on a hood, the pic fits the message.

Live and learn!

Not gonna last…Token Entry and NFAA

Here are two gems which are currently making their home in Chile. Both of these shirts have seemingly low Buy it Nows, but that could be due to their condition. As always, buyer beware and ask questions first. $40 each, you can’t go wrong.

Kicking Myself – Planet Mental Tee

Ugh, I’m kicking myself today. Somehow, I let this great tee slip under my radar. I totally forgot to bid on it. And where does it end at? $10.50. That’s just stupid.

If you don’t know, this tee was designed by our own JayBil. For the record release show  18 came out on grey with purple ink and 18 on light blue with purple ink. You barely ever see those on ebay. Then they (jaybil) put together a few more on the light blue with maroon ink for dudes that missed out at the show. Not many of these ever saw the light of day, and very few of them were ever sold to “the public.” Seeing this one go for barely 10 clams is just wrong. Plain wrong.

Ain’t no party like a Planet Mental party!

Everyone needs a Champion Crewneck, right?

Sooo Mr. Murphy, you love crewnecks eh? DUH. Join the club. There is nothing more comfortable than a broken in champion crewneck sweatshirt. Maybe it’s a fuzzy memory when I was in high school, or possible an association with the youth crew rocking them in old pictures. In any case, you need at least one of these in your rotation.

Burgundy reverse weave? Sure thing! Grab this before it ends up in a salvation army!
