Last night, I had the good fortune of seeing H2O play Club Hell in Providence, RIX. You may have seen the tweets. I was stoked on the gig. Tom Z’s band covered Shelter. First time seeing Man Overboard, and they impressed me. I love a good pop punk set. And so did the kids. I saw a few superfans holding it down in the pit. And the H2O set was awesome. Lots of old classics, great first EP jams and first two LP jams. Most kids were super psyched on the new jams from Nothing To Prove. I can hang with the new songs, but the old jams are my favorite. Heard a rumor of a re-release of the first LP … Great gig. The H2O crew never fails to bring the mosh and stage dives. Great positive energy and excellent intros. The Cro-Mags, Black Sabbath and holy shit, Rusty doing Walking On The Moon by The Police was SPOT ON! Excellent times.
But before the gig even went down, I had the chance to hang with dudes at Nice Slice. Great little hang sesh. Sweet Pete, Chris “B9” Wrenn & Jim from the Sully store (hope you traded an old cupcake for an old smoothie, dude), Toby H2O, Adam Blake, Connor from Energy … Where was Pike? He missed out. It was great to hear about Toby’s One Life One Chance work. Super positive stuff, and you can tell Toby is genuinely giving 110% to it. He’s been busting ass over the last week or two with talks AND H2O gigs. Not sure how he does it. Make sure to pick up one of those PMA tees. And if you want some new H2O gear, check the B9 store. Lots of stuff up in there.
Now what about this tee from dojoinc78? Great look here. You have to love that classic tattoo flash style. And I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy the FTTW album. When it dropped, I spent many hours blasting it on repeat. It didn’t hurt that I picked it up before driving from Boston to California. I was the overnight driver and Toby & Crew kept me alert on that long haul. That music may have been responsible for my severe lead foot on that trip too now that I think about it …
