In the beginning, there was metal and there was skateboarding. That’s where hardcore kids came from. I don’t think anyone back in the day jumped into the fray straight out of punk rock. It was metal or skateboarding. Or both. And if you were like this seller too.
My Favorite Black Flag Shirt.
The Black Flag shirt that rockawayrecordsis selling might be my favorite design from them…
The blue shirt, the orange trim, the AOQ predating bomb blast (drawn by Pettibon of course)… everything about this really clicks for me. Pretty much every other shirt they ever did was either a record cover slapped on a shirt or just the bars logo, but since the 1986 tour shirts draw from the In My Head cover, which was multiple small Pettibon drawings, the shirts from that tour feel fresh. Maybe it’s just me. Plus there’s the fact that they’ve never been reprinted and booted ad nauseum, so whenever one pops up, it’s like seeing it again for the first time.
Desperate Measures shirt
It seems like Desperate Measures gear is on the outs as far as collecting goes. There one time kings of merch have been relegated to $5 shirts with no bids. Kinda sad really, as they were a good band that I really enjoyed. Hopefully we can at least get this one sold for $5.
Baby Steps Are Still Steps.
Anyone remember Back in July, he was selling this Agnostic Front basketball jersey with a $99.75 BIN. Clearly, no one went for it, because it’s back (again)…
Pleased to say that the BIN has gone down, though not by much. Still, given the prices we’ve seen other jerseys go for on here, that might be just enough to get someone to go for it. And if not, hey, baby steps are still steps, right? Especially if they’re taken in Doc Marten boots.
