Ugly Is Right.

I don’t know how I feel about this LOA shirt from xbestoneyetx. I go back and forth on it…

It’s definitely very 90s alternative skateboarder looking. And when I titled this post, I wasn’t into it. But now that I’ve stared at it for awhile, it’s quickly grown on me. Much like the Ugly album itself: didn’t care for it when I first heard it, but I gave it a couple listens and now I rock it almost as much as RRR. Soul Searching Sun on the other hand… still only one good song on that one.

Stick Together shirt

It is extremely hard in this day and age to be a straight edge hardcore band, and create shirt designs that are not cheesy. Slap an extra X here and there, and you could end up creating a disaster. Stick Together has seemingly avoided all of this by going with the tried and true methods of using their (great) blown up demo cover art. The other design they have is a graffiti logo, and that one is sick as well. Hoodrack and the boys are pushing out some gems, so here is your chance to snap up a Stick Together shirt if you have not done so yet. You know you want to.

Pulp For Pulp.

I myself am a proud owner of this dime store novel inspired Blood For Blood shirt being sold by xbestoneyetx, and the description is right on: these fit snug. Fortunately, since I bought it straight from the BFB merch table in the late 90s (ie when the wearing shirts a size too big thing still hadn’t quite died off), I bought mine a size larger than I actually wore. As such, it now fits me perfectly.

I know I’ve said that I’m long over wearing shirts with noticeable swearing, but that is over ridden by two things: 1. my intense love of Blood For Blood and 2. my extreme love of old pulp fiction and dime store crime novels. I actually have a pretty decent collection of them, mostly salvaged from the quarter bins that all the local libraries around me seem to have. In fact, I’ve actually been looking for an excuse to post some of the ones I’ve found on the ‘bay; sadly there is currently no Pulp Noize.

I’d post some of the Parker novels on my watch list, but if you stole them out from under me I’d have to go all Lee Marvin on you.

Behold A Pale Horse

What do I know about the band Pale Horse? Absolutely nothing. Ok, that’s not true. I know they have a metal edge and, at least according to this hood from xjbuckx, they have cool looking merch.

What do I know about the book Behold A Pale Horse from Milton William Cooper? More. I was never a conspiracy nut, but I know more about this book than the band. Sad but true? Perhaps. But I’m sure every one of you out there knows some weird uncle or strange neighbor who subscribes to every word on these pages. Secret organizations, UFOs, weird arcane shit, … this dude dabbled in a little bit of everything. Like I said, I can’t hang, BUT I can’t think of the band Pale Horse without thinking about this book. AJT’s dad would be proud.
