Sick Of It All crew neck

Sometimes the stories write themselves…

This is an original Sick Of It All crew neck sweatshirt which used to belong to Rick Rodney from Strife, that was given to me by Craig Setari aka Craig Ahead. I went to see SOIA play when Strife were supporting and I was wearing an Inside Out work shirt that my brother had made while working at Revelation Records, Craig instantly started saying how cool it looked and how I must let him have it to wear on stage, I had only received it from my brother a few weeks earlier and really didn’t want to give it up, but he kept on at me offering me one of everything from the merch stand which was about 6 tees and about 3 longsleeves. Rick from Strife walked by wearing this cool crew sweater and I said I wanted one of those, Craig said they were from the US tour so they didn’t have any with them, so he made a deal with Rick and I walked away with about £100 worth of Merch and a used SOIA crew neck sweater, I’m still not sure I made the right decision though, that work shirt was VERY COOL!!!

Suicidal Tendencies crew neck

Every piece of merch has a story and this one is no exception.

This is an original Suicidal Tendencies “Skull” crew neck sweatshirt that I bought at the original Rough Trade Records / Slam City Skates store on Talbot Road in London in 1986, a bunch of us got the train down, intending to go on the CND peace march, but ended up spending the day Skateboarding and shopping for records instead.

I would say that a day of skating and shopping for records is better than a day at a peace march.

A Contribution Not Left Unnoticed.

I’ve never been that big on the band zip up. You know, with the whole zipper splitting the band name thing? I was cool with American Nightmare’s (which I think may have actually been the one that kicked off the trend), because it just went the initials route, and because at the time it seemed fresh. But since then, it’s just been driven into the ground for me. But huffalospringfield has got a non-core one that’s to good to go unsung, and like he says in the description, it’s one you’ll be stoked for…

Sewn on collegiate letters? That’s a total step up. But then, it’s Helmet. They go big, as anyone who has heard the riffs on Meantime knows.

New Age Records goodies

Here are a few New Age Records shirts that you may find interesting. These are some odds and ends from Mike Hartsfield’s closet, that would be perfect for the New Age Records completist.

First up is a baby blue Drift Again shirt with white ink. It looks a little odd, but in the 90’s it wasn’t!
