THIS IS HARDCORE: Clubber Lang.

Thanks to rottingaway, I can continue my habit of posting mini-reviews and videos from this year’s This Is Hardcore Fest…

At the 2009 TIHC, Clubber Lang did 2 songs right before Cold World. I was real psyched on this, and moshed like a maniac. This year… still psyched, but didn’t make so much with the moshing. Instead, I took it easy and watched from the sidelines. I was trying to pace myself for the weekend, all I can say. Little did I know that Cooper was counting on me to be his barometer to gauge how well they were doing. I let you down, bro. So I want it put on record that they in fact did play great; even pulling a demo song out of the mothballs, and there was much pitting to be had. They sold this same shirt design last year as well, only it was white on green instead of the Phillies colors seen above. This years video isn’t up yet, so here’s last years to tide you over…

A History Lesson & A Judge Hood

History lesson: digital imaging has a great back story. Were you aware that the first megapixel sensor dated all the way back to the paleolithic era of 1986? Probably not. I’m guessing quite a few of you weren’t born then. It’s ok, I was only 7. I missed all the good shit too. Yes, 1986. The first megapixel sensor could capture 1.5 Megapixels. Granted, the sensor was probably the size of a modern desktop computer … The first widely available digital camera was invented by Kodak 5 years later. They had managed to squeeze the sensor size down, as well as the form factor. This device was aimed at photo journalists and hobbyists. It was the first DSLR camera available on the market, the DCS 100. At this point, they are pretty big collector items. In fact, I can’t even find any on ebay currently, the closest I could find was a Nikon F3s mounted on a Kodak “computer.” Digital cameras would improve significantly over the years; a lot of progress has been made in the world of digital photo technology in the last 24 years.

Of course, it does not appear that wolfsblood718 took advantage of ANY of these improvements when taking pictures of this Judge hood. It’s a shame too because this is a great hood.

THIS IS HARDCORE: Bulldoze.

Skinheads moshing a bulldozer is always a good shirt design in my world, I don’t care what band you are. Fortunately, in this case the band is Bulldoze (tho really, I don’t think any one that knows Bulldoze exists would dare try to do a shirt with skinheads moshing a bulldozer for any band but them).

Seller rottingaway also brings us this Bulldoze cap, one of which I know we’ve had on here before, but I wanted to talk about the Bulldoze set at This Is Hardcore and given what Kev was carrying on stage, a ball cap seemed appropriate…

Bulldoze was one of my favorite sets of the weekend. I’ve never been a big fan, have seen them live before and never was all that impressed, but they were really on point this time. And the Foundation merch girls liked their set even more than I did (tho the $5 girl tees Bulldoze were selling may have had something to do with that). Apparently a great many people thought seeing Bulldoze meant that they could go mosh the merch tables at the back of the room with impunity despite Kevone’s calls to move up front… that is until a certain fest organizer went back there and began dishing out body slams. I think Bulldoze’s rep kept a lot of people away from the front on top of that, which is understandable but unfortunate. But it was definitely cool to see Kevone not only saying all these positive things about the fest from the stage alongside quotes like “I was going to see Cro-mags when you were still in your mother’s ball bag”, as well as seeing him (and Paul Bearer, and Eddie Leeway) hanging around and watching bands all weekend in great spirits. It was also incredibly scary seeing him smash a bat to splinters with one blow…

Well, That’s Been Cleared Up.

For those of you missed out on the I posted this in the comments section on that post, but since this turned out to be more of a misunderstanding than a mad scheme, I figured it would only be right to repost it fresh for today, along with a few more of his auctions, in anticipation of him making the appropriate corrections.

So I’ve talked to the seller, and it turns out he’s not only a TTD reader, but someone both myself and the Mob member I spoke with know personally.

Turns out there was no malicious intent; he just plain thought he had the right information. Part of this is due to assumption, and part of it is miscommunication. In the case of the RJ’s hat, he had been told by a band member when they were made that they were a friends only deal, and then minds were changed. He’s planning on notifying the bidders and adjusting the descriptions so they are correct, as is fair and just.
