I would describe the design of this shirt as “funky”. Funky colors, funky graffiti style. It’s an overall good looking design. You would think that the “murder in the streets of Baltimore” tagline would detract from the overall funkiness of this shirt, but it does not.
As the seller states, “stay cold in this hot piece”
The Jazz June emerged from Kutztown, PA during a weird period in hardcore, 1996. Dudes were breaking edge, growing their hair out and getting lo-fi. This band started with dudes from Atari, a PA straight edge band from the mid 90s. Then dudes got funky with it. You could still see and sense the hardcore under pinnings, but this music was definitely more post hardcore. Lots of emotion, lots of flailing around, not as many high jumps and Xed up fists. No big deal, really as the music was electric. It really grabs your attention, and you have to go with it. Of course, their releases came on Initial Records. There was no better place for music of this style at the time. Initial was the place to be. The band did their thing and finally broke up a few years later. They played a well received reunion in 2009. Not sure anything can compare to that Punk Rock Prom gig, though.
I suggest snagging this shirt from grimmusthefatcat. No bids, less than $2 and less than 6 hours to go. Dumb if you don’t. This shirt features artwork from the cover of Breakdance Suburbia so you can assume it goes back to 1999.
If I didn’t have a hatred for tank tops, I would be all over this Reaper Records styled Hi-Impact and Step Forward records Drug Free Youth mash up. The seller states “It’s basically awesome” and who am I to disagree.
This is quite the cool Cold World shirt that the seller, antsinthekoolaid, says is from their first tour. It is a simple design by Cold World’s standards, but I really like this one. Just a small drop of color on the front.
I LOVE the font on the back. This would make a great summer shirt!
