Not A Raw Deal

You know what I like? I like when sellers give great descriptions on their tees. Already today, we’ve seen some TERRIBLE tshirt descriptions. Seller pushinfatweight makes up for all of them. Dude is legit when it comes to describing tees. Best part? His descriptions center around when and where the shirt came. That’s what I like. You know we all go on and on about provenance. This guy gets us.

For instance, this Blacklisted tshirt. Great tshirt. Lots of good details for this one.

Blacklisted is an absolutely fantastic hardcore band from Philadelphia, PA. I bought this shirt from the lead singer of War Hungry, who was selling his shirts to help fund touring, when that band played the Tiger’s Den in Brockton, MA with Cold World and Shere Khan. This was in 2007. This shirt, for anyone who is familiar with the NYHC band RAW DEAL, is a clear rip-off (or, perhaps more fittingly, “tribute”) of that band. It features the same pencil-sketch drawing as the original RAW DEAL shirt, which depicts an action-packed scene of a woolly mammoth (or mastodon, whatever) fighting off an attacking pack of sabretooth tigers. The shirt is gray. Above the illustration are the words “BLACK LISTED” (notice the space between…) in the same font as on the original RAW DEAL shirt. Bid hard.

That’s just great details. Granted, this was never a REAL Raw Deal shirt design, but we’ll let that part slide. The show he is talking about is

March 25, 2006 @ Romans Brockton Mass: LOJ, Cold World, Shere Khan, Meltdown, Downhill Fast

We’ll let his date slide too …

This may have been the first (or one of the first) shows that both Downhill Fast and Meltdown played. Was this the last Shere Khan show? Could have been. Cold World and LOJ killed it. And when I say LOJ killed it, they played great and had kids completely stone faced. No one knew what the fuck to think. So good. The only tidbit this dude failed to mention was how bitterly cold it was. So friggin cold that night. I picked up the Lil Kim “No Tricks in 06” CW tee and the Hoya Bulldog CW tee. Great show.

Make sure to check out this kids other auctions as he has more gem stories and gem items.

What Kind Of Work Does Lifetime Do?

Earlier today I decided it was time to upgrade my tires on the bike. I had been having issues with the back tire. Two flats in 10 miles. Not cool. It is a tax holiday in Mass so it made sense to hit up my local bike store (lbs) for some new tires and a tube. Should have grabbed two tubes, another backup, just in case. They only had a few tires to chose from, and I ended up with some Michelin Pro3s in the red color. They weren’t inexpensive, but they felt nice on my first test ride. Looking forward to seeing how they work out.

I know what you are thinking, “What the fuck is Brian talking about? None of this has to do with cool hardcore merch …” Yeah, you’d think that, but here’s the connection. Besides the super friendly guy who LOVED talking bikes (especially the Cradle Of Filth embroidered work shirt. If I hadn’t been looking closely, I would have probably just assumed it was a regular old work shirt. But no, it was not. It was Cradle Of Filth. Amazing. Of course, the nice old man had some early 60s acoustic jams on the radio. Not very metal like.

So that brings us all the way to this Lifetime work shirt from chris31954. The mid 90s had LOTS of love for work shirts. You don’t really see them out there too much anymore. This one has the great Lifetime logo and appears to be in excellent condition. I’m going to suggest you pick it up stat.

Rain Crew

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Rain On The Parade tee, over 6 months. The last one had black and red ink with sleeve print. I’m feeling that. This one from I Hate You tee because I plan on winning it.
