The seller does a good job of summing up Mental with that one line. Seriously. Everything about Mental was designed for fun. Lots of great mosh, good stage dives, and obviously, at least in the beginning, some goofy lyrics. But you know what, it worked. Not only did it work, but inspired legions of bands after them. Without Mental, we’d probably be forced to listen to 600 American Nightmare clones. No disrespect to AN because they did it right. But AN clones … I can do without those. We can probably also blame the Mental Crew for lots of terrible moshing now. These dudes brought back a style that probably hadn’t been seen since Belushi was alive … Think about that. Shout out to Jaybil on a great design.
Terror Mosh Hat
When did mosh hats come into style? I feel like I one day, there were none. Then the next day, every push-pitter was wearing one. Always black. Always sans logo or graphic. I seriously missed it. It just happened. Poooooof. Like magic. Here’s what I’m wondering. Where are all the 5 panel core hats? I’d wear a 5 panel Terror hat. I like a good 5 panel. Pass on the new eras though. Not sure how Terror decided on a white mosh hat, but if that’s your deal, check out this auction from haussler2010.

Lets compare. An original tee (albeit a modern day reprint) from ben$dover. Granted, I like my shirt with sleeves either way. Both look good, but something about that font just makes the word LEEWAY look soooo much better.

Oh man, this shirt is an obvious nod to a classic. Fire And Ice. Smart move. Good look for United Blood too. And the back definitely reminds me of those awesome Dumptruck Army shirts made for Posi Numbers. Anyone got that pic of Posi Josh P and Kenny “The Guy with the Polar Bear Tee” Step Forward?
