BURN shirt part 2

Where one BURN shirt ends, another one begins. I hope that whoever lost out on the last one is able to scoop this one for less money. Your patience will be rewarded. Maybe.

Edge Day 2008

If you don’t know the back story on this tee, let me fill you in.

Our good friend Jason Barrow had a beautiful dream. He imagined handing tshirts to every kid who attended edge day 2008 Xed up. No cost to the kid, just ink on their fist. So he pulled it all together.

First he enlisted TTD’s very own JayBil to design the tee for him. JayBil had to redraw the entire FP man by hand based on images online. No joke. And he picked some great fonts.

Then Jason hit up Kris Mission of Mission Merch to screen the tees. Shirts arrived fresh, crisp and on time.

As each Xed up kid came in the door, they were given one of these. Very cool of Barrow. Lots of #PMA karma there.

Personal note: I contemplated taking a kids shirt away for moshing like a douchebag. I’m sure Barrow would have approved, but I didn’t think it was my place.

Pam Grier

A friend of TTD (#FOTTD), miketwoms has up this great Mental tee. I recall at the time, kids were a little taken back by the artwork. Boobs on shirts hadn’t become the accepted norm yet. Now you can throw out F-Bombs and Goat Vaginas all you want. But way back in 2003, times were different. Girls were recently de-bonneted and had just got over big pants. Cargo shorts were still the norm with a crucial tee. This one was outside the norm.

But Greg Mental kicked it up. He pushed out this tshirt in white/purple and white/orange. I had the white/orange. Sold it a year or two ago because I couldn’t get past that giant nipple on my tee. Just not my style. Props to Greg for thinking outside the box with this Pam Grier pic. And if you don’t know who Pam Grier is, I suggest you step your game up. Peep Foxy Brown.
