1996 was a weird year. Any year where tour dates make a great sleeve print is obviously an odd year. Check this hooded sweatshirt from yuanwu. It’s still super cheap. Great color, but the sleeve print is just weirdo.

My guess about sleeve print tour dates is that it makes it easy for the merch company to use the same screens and keep selling the shirt after the tour is over. All they have to do is not screen the sleeves and they have a generic piece of non-date merch. I love a shirt with dates, but in my few years of designing merch I’ve found that merch companies dont like them because they say its hard to sell leftovers. Plus when you eliminate a color/screen it makes the shirt a little cheaper to produce.
