Please don’t be confused by this Side By Side shirt being sold by hortchef. THe auction claims that it is an original. It is not like any of the originals I have seen with their oversize, off-center, too high graphic placement. Good style though if happy marching skinheads are your thing.
i have this in XL. Some guy on B9 printed these 3-4 years ago. In Jules’ new interviews with double cross, he talks about this design and how he hated it.
this was a free giveaway we threw off stage at some of our first shows so if it original it’s pretty rare. it’s hand made from the original flyer we put up at some records when it was just Jules and me looking for other people for the band and pretty low tech but we were a bunch of broke ass kids. I also find it interesting how many people bash this art and love the GB gorilla. I did both drawings about a year apart. I saw Jules interview and we talked about it before hand and I don’t remember him saying he hated this. he loved it at the time, but we all really liked the graphic that Alex did with the traced LL Cool Jay rapper pose figures. after we adopted that Jules always felt this art was old hat. plus by that time nobody was shaving their heads and everybody wore sneakers not boots so it didn’t represent our image or audience. still and all, no reason to hate on this shirt and if somebody did reprint them they’re rippin’ us off ’cause we never got any money for it.
Whoa, thanks Billy. This shirt is obviously a classic look. Lots of bands over the years have paid homage to it. Thanks for the info.
