Ebay seller reptilian_records has an old Victory Records Snapcase shirt on the auction block. While not the oldest Snapcase shirt we have seen, it is a classic Victory design in minty fresh condition. Check out the amazing description from the seller.
“Black short-sleeved crew-neck t-shirt from their early days.
C’mon, man. Incarnation! Huh? Whattya say about that, Ace?
Rumors are that this was one of their first tees, if not their first.
But I’m no t-shirt chronology expert. I could be wrong.
All I know is that this is one of the earliest Snapcase t’s.
If you know where this shirt falls in their shirt history chart, fill us in.On the front, in SILVER LETTERING it says
“SNAPCASE – It’s Time To Live Today.”
On the rear, it has a live shot and in YELLOW LETTERING, says
“Incarnation!”
Victory Records logo on the left short-sleeve.It was worn a few times by our fearless leader, laundered,
and nestled in a closet for the last decade plus.
So there are very light signs of wear on the silver Snapcase front logo
(those little light lines that happen on antique t-shirts)But see the photos to see that it’s in EXCELLENT shape.
People are going to FREAK OUT when you wear this, chief.
He got this from the band a meellion years ago, like many of the shirts I’ll be putting on the eBay for him. (Reptilian has worked with tons of bands, putting out their records (like Mastodon, Page 99) and receiving freebies from ’em.) He’s moving soon, and he has to thin out the collection, so I’m in charge of laundering, folding, photographing, and listing. And YOU’RE in charge of checking out the amazing t-shirt collection that I’ll be listing over the next few days. This shirt, my friend, is full of punk rock love.
SEE THE PHOTOS!!!
EXTRA LARGE Fruit Of The Loom BLACK T-SHIRT with crew neck and short sleeves!
It’s heavy 100% cotton, so it’ll be a great autumn/fall shirt, or now is fine as long as it’s not 100 degrees outside. Along with being heavy material, it’s a big extra large, so if you’re wondering about roominess, and you’re on the bigger side of x-tra large, this is biggerer.”
The guy that does all the Reptilian e-bay descriptions is my friend John who was a 90’s Alternative Rock Radio DJ, he is completely out of his mind in the best possible way and I promise some second only to RTL eBay descriptions on his listings…..
I can’t wait to read them!
i had a funny little episode with John and Reptilian Records. i don’t have any hard feelings concerning this, as i’m sure he tried very hard to get stuff resolved. i have this posted on my HYE-list about stuff i bought from Reptilian:
Reptilian Records
Hard Stance – Face Reality – Workshed – clear
Hard Stance – Face Reality – Workshed – black
Himsa – s/t – Revelation – blue
Strife – Gray – Victory – white
Communication’s actually been great, except that the records were not resent as was promised again and again and again
in the course of over a year. The package is probably still lying around in their shop. Initially bought in September 2008,
last I heard from them was December 2009. Have not recieved any response upon my last email sent March 2010.
again, no hard feelings or anything, John was great in trying very hard to get these records to me, it just never happened.
about the shirt: a german distro had these available in 2006/2007. might have been reprinted at the time.
I worked at reptilian for ten years 1996-2006 but that was pre them really doing any ebay to speak of. I still swing by the shop on occasion, I’ll ask John next time I see him what the story is.
I should say “office” as the store itself is closed now.
Love how big the pants are in the band photo. I had the same shirt but longsleeve, which on occasion, I regret selling on E-bay as this is a pretty nice shirt. This T is selling for much more than I got paid a few years ago, has Snapcase had a resurgence in popularity lately.
I had the longsleeve too. After looking at these pics, I sort of regret selling mine on ebay too.
